Freeware paint and draw graphic art with links to websites
Paint-draw graphics freeware ranges from simple to complex. Here are a some paint and draw samples created with different programs. I don't have a favorite program because each one has unique tools. Also, many are image editors.

ArtRage provides an artist with virtual paintbrush, palette knife, crayon, and pencil tools. The tools are convenient and easy to use. Colors can be realisticly blended.
ArtWeaver is now in English. There are a variety of art tools in many sizes to experiment with. This a terrific paint-draw program
Basic Paint Easy is small(640kb) and easy to use with in-sight tools. No dropdowns to hassle with; for adjustments just right click and select. Brush Strokes has a variety of interesting tools; too many to list so look at the screen shot. I discovered I can make virtual marbled designs by using the "knife" tool. I haven't tried all the tools as this is a new program for me. DrawMe is fun and simple to use. Project DogWaffle is complex with all its tools that can produce a real-like watercolor, a pencil sketch, and other styles. Draw4Children is wonderful with the many themes for stamps and many colorful effects for lines and shapes. It is for all ages. Gimp is complex with a lot of variety--the qbist filter is one of my favorites. HeliosPaint needs Java and has tools such as the shapes, gradients, and filters that are easy to use. Image Forge is easy to use, but the updated freeware doesn't have patterns anymore. Oriens Enhancer Gold is for painting and for image editing. Since I like painting I put OEG on this page. Pixia is complex with lots of interesting brushes and filters. It is fun to create custom textures with which to paint. PaintStar has many tools like Gimp. Rendera is for XP, but I use it with Win98 and the only thing I can't use is save. So I save by using a screen capture to copy and then paste into MSPaint. I really like the texture settings for crayon and pastel tools. Twisted Brush is a limited freeware, but has some interesting tools.

Best viewed with IE and Opera browsers. Netscape and Foxfire browsers may not be able to use back and next buttons.
