These thick shakes are made with canned coconut milk. Coconut milk can be thick or thin depending on the date it was processed. I have had coconut milk that was as thick as whipped cream and even spreadable like butter. I use the "whipped cream" thickness for pumpkin pie topping.
There are many brands of coconut milk and you need to read each label to see the best one for you. Most grocery stores have coconut milk. I have tried many brands to find the ones I like best and use 2-3 different brands. I especially like the Savoy brand coconut milk as it has the fewest additives. I buy at least 2 cans of same date and and label the top of each can with thin, thick, or whipped cream. Most canned coconut milk has 2-year expiration date. It is good to have a variety of textures so as to have the right one when you need it.Into blender put 1 ripe, medium banana 2 Tbspn. cocoa 2 Tbspn. coconut milk, I use Savoy brand 1 tray of mini ice cubes 1/4 to 1/2 cup water, your choice of thickness Stevia to sweeten to your taste Blend until smooth and enjoy.
